One Shot Wednesday

i paint your name
upon my heart
and wait for it
to dry
what a way
to say good-bye
good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

i carve your face
into my skin
watch it bleed
then scar
this life has taken
me so far
so very, very far

i sketch your smile
within my mind
and water it
with tears
this ache for you
is always here
here, and there, and here

  1. Sad sentiment to the poem... Enjoyed the way the rhyme was written—smooth and the repetition works well with the artistic outlets mentioned. thanks

  4. I love how this moves from name to face to smile; from the more general to more personal.

  13. Lovely. I was captivated by the use of the permanent, painting, carving, sketching, to capture the impermanent, the fleeting. Very effective.
