adolescent giggles and secrets shared
over curly fries drowning in ketchup
crowded in a red vinyl booth

stolen glances, stolen touches
butterflies and jitters curling
around us both as we share our first kiss

rhinestone barrettes and pearl pins
painstakingly placed, nestled in dark curls
forever will i remember the look on his face

one quietly cherished night after another
gently curling, softly enveloping
forever safe, forever you, forever me
