sunlight dances in
gifts prismatic frippery
upon cresting waves
stoic oak
adorned
with the frippery
of one dozen
bejeweled birds
from up here, the city
is always beautiful-
cloaked in midnight
and colored with
neon light frippery
no amount
of frippery
can staunch
the wound
to her heart
